Ranveer Singh has found a new supporter in Poonam Dhillon, at least that’s what it seems. Dhillon, the president of the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), has come out in support of the Dhurandhar actor for his offer of Rs 10 crore in compensation to the production banner behind Don 3. FYI, Ranveer abruptly left the film just a few weeks ahead of the scheduled shooting of the film, which led to a rift between him and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar.

Notably, Poonam Dhillon, who heads CINTAA, has stood by Ranveer Singh ever since FWICE issued a non-cooperation order against him. Now that the directive has been withdrawn following a legal notice by the actor, Dhillon continues to praise his professionalism. In a recent chat, the veteran star opined on whether Ranveer was right on his part to exit the project.

Speaking with Free Press Journal, Poonam Dhillon said, “The details of that we don’t know, but we know that I am sure he would be a fair person, and if he feels that he is, he is not the kind of person who will deliberately harm or hurt anybody, and he has an excellent relationship with Excel. Yeah, he’s given two big hits with them. So, if there was any reason that he is not comfortable doing this film, could be for various reasons. And kudos to him that he offered compensation for losses incurred and paid back the signing amount. Many don’t even do that.”

The conversation also saw Poonam Dhillon reflecting on whether actors should actively participate in creative decisions. Without mincing words, she said, “Hello, they are intelligent, thinking people, especially the lead actors. They have a say in a script because they are going to be the one who will be projected there. They will get the brickbats in the end if the film is not appreciated.”

Ranveer Singh Offered Rs 10 Crore As Don 3 Payment Compensation

According to Bollywood Hungama, Ranveer’s team was willing to pay Rs 10 crores to Excel Entertainment. The actor also offered a discount of Rs 25 crores on any other film that Excel may want to do with him next. With this move, the actor aimed to keep the professional relationship intact and friendly.

What Don 3 Dispute Was About

It all started after Ranveer Singh exited Don 3 just three weeks ahead of the scheduled shooting, as per the reports. His sudden departure caused a loss of around Rs 40-45 crore to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Disappointed, the producers approached FWICE, and the federation issued a non-cooperation directive against him.

Later, Singh’s team had sent the legal notice to FWICE, following which the directive was withdrawn. As per the latest updates, the Producers Guild of India will be mediating the issue between the two parties.
