The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh with immediate effect. The development has brought relief to the Dhurandhar actor amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. The decision comes after the Bollywood actor reportedly sent a legal notice to the film workers’ body and challenged its action.
According to a press release by FWICE, the directive was withdrawn following interventions from the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), the Producers Guild of India, and the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). “We hereby announce the withdrawal of the Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) issued against Mr. Ranveer Singh with immediate effect,” it read.
“This decision has been taken after careful thought, introspection, and constructive discussions, keeping in mind the collective sentiments and larger welfare of the film fraternity. The entertainment industry has always thrived on mutual respect, collaboration, and solidarity amongst its stakeholders, and it is important that all efforts ultimately contribute towards maintaining these core values,” the release added.
FWICE also clarified that the withdrawal should not be viewed as a victory or defeat for either side. The press note went on to say, “It is in this spirit of goodwill, mutual respect, and consideration for the larger interests of the industry that we have decided to withdraw the NCD issued against Mr. Ranveer Singh.”

Ranveer Singh’s Legal Notice To FWICE
The latest development came shortly after Ranveer Singh moved legal in response to FWICE’s non-cooperation directive. The actor reportedly served a notice to the workers’ body and objected to the action taken against him.
What Sparked The Don 3 Controversy?
The controversy began after Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani raised concerns over Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3. FWICE alleged that the actor had withdrawn from the project after substantial pre-production work. This led to financial and logistical losses for the makers. This was followed by a complaint by the production authorities. After this, the federation issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh and urged its affiliated members not to collaborate with him until the dispute was resolved.
FWICE had maintained that its action was intended to protect the interests of industry stakeholders and workers affected by such disputes. However, the move drew criticism from several people of the industry. Some even argued that such disagreements should be settled through legal channels and not by non-cooperation directives.
