For Dwayne Johnson, the Moana premiere was more than just another movie event. The Hollywood star made it a complete family affair as he arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of the live action film on July 7 with almost his entire family by his side. From his mother and wife to his daughters and even his ex-wife, Johnson’s latest red carpet appearance had everyone smiling.
Joining the actor were his mother Ata, wife Lauren Hashian, daughters Jasmine, Tiana and Simone, ex-wife Dany Garcia and her husband Dave Rienzi.
The Johnson Family Stole The Show
While Dwayne looked dapper as ever, it was his daughters who grabbed plenty of attention on the blue carpet.
Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, arrived in matching blue dresses featuring bright red hibiscus prints coordinated hair accessories. His eldest daughter Simone kept it elegant in a black midi dress paired with black open toe pumps.
The outing also brought back memories of the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii in November 2024. Back then, Jasmine and Tiana had twinned in colourful tie dye dresses while Simone opted for a floral gown.
The sisters also share a special connection with the franchise after lending their voices to two characters in Moana 2.

The Funny Story Behind Dwayne Johnson’s Maui Voice
Years before his daughters became part of the Moana universe, Johnson had revealed that convincing Jasmine he was actually the voice of Maui wasn’t easy.
Recalling the hilarious moment during an earlier interview with PEOPLE, he said, “I said, ‘You know, that’s Daddy’s voice, and I’m going to show you.’ Maui starts singing, and I then start singing, and within 10 seconds she’s trying to put a pillow over my mouth and says, ‘You’re ruining the song.’ ”

Although his daughters didn’t recognise his voice at first, Johnson later shared that Maui eventually became their favourite character.
Speaking to E! News after Moana 2, the actor also opened up about how Jasmine and Tiana reacted when they finally heard themselves on the big screen.
“They loved it. Loved, loved it. They hadn’t seen it before. They knew they were in it, and they were sitting on the edge of their seats, literally, and just waiting,” he recalled.
“Their scene came up, and they’re just like, ‘That’s me!’ It was so cool.”
Johnson then joked, “That’s the good stuff of fame,” before adding with a laugh, “And nepotism.”
Moana 3 In Works
The premiere comes just days after Johnson confirmed during a press conference in Rio de Janeiro that a third animated Moana film is already in development. He also revealed that writers Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller will return for the next chapter.
Meanwhile, the live action adaptation of Moana is set to hit theatres on July 10. Alongside Johnson, the film stars newcomer Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, with John Tui, Frankie Adams, Rena Owen and Jemaine Clement rounding out the cast.
