The 2026 Emmys have delivered a major milestone for Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican singer and rapper has won his first Emmy for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny, which dominated the first night of the Creative Arts Emmys with seven wins.
The win came in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category, making Bad Bunny an Emmy winner for the halftime show he headlined and produced. The show also became the most-awarded Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history.
Why Is Bad Bunny’s Emmy Win Historic?
Bad Bunny’s Emmy win is significant for more than just the number of awards. The Super Bowl LX halftime show was the first halftime performance headlined by a Latino solo artist and was performed almost entirely in Spanish.
The show ultimately picked up seven Emmys, surpassing the three awards won by the 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
It also became only the second Super Bowl halftime show to win the top programme Emmy, following the 2022 hip-hop halftime show.
How Many Emmys Did Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Win?
The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show earned seven wins at the Creative Arts Emmys. Among the categories in which it prevailed were Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming and Outstanding Sound Mixing. The Television Academy lists the show among the 2026 winners across these categories.
