Epic First Semester Review: Anand Deverakonda And Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s Slow-Burning Romance Builds Curiosity But Ends Without The Answers You Expect

Epic – First Semester follows Aditya as he adjusts to life in the UK, freedom, love and adulthood. Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya deliver grounded performances, but the slow pace and deliberately incomplete ending weaken the film’s emotional impact.

Epic – First Semester is about Aditya, a quiet young man. His parents urge him to go from India to the UK for college. Aditya wants to direct films one day, but he has not seen much life beyond his safe routine. One day, he is suddenly in a new country. He is around people he does not know, and he has to adjust fast. The setup can work well for a coming-of-age tale. It makes sense because Aditya is dealing with freedom for the first time. Still, the movie moves at a very slow pace. Key emotional moments arrive late.

Anand Deverakonda And Vaishnavi Chaitanya Bring Their Characters To Life

Anand Deverakonda feels right for Aditya. In the scenes where he is still new to things, you can sense his innocence and confusion. He also looks unsure at times, like he is learning how to stand on his own. Over the course of the film, his face and body language show a slow change. It is the kind of shift you see in a young man who is trying to live without his parents close by. Vaishnavi Chaitanya plays Kadali in a different way. She carries more energy from the start. Her version of the role is more sure of herself and willing to speak her mind.

Epic First Semester Review: Love, Live-In Relationship, and Life Lessons

The movie is not only about romance. Aditya and Kadali move from one personal choice to the next, and the plot keeps asking hard things about staying together. They also deal with living together, fear around pregnancy, and the pressure that comes with marriage. On paper, it sounds like it should feel grown-up and hold your attention. There are scenes that do catch the messy side of young love, when people want freedom but do not fully know what it costs. Aditya’s path is mostly about independence. He has to learn how to decide for himself, not just rely on his parents.

A Deliberately Incomplete Ending Leaves Epic First Semester Wanting More

The ending is the main point here. It cuts off on purpose and does not tie things up. We do not get the clear answers you might expect, and the story stops right when it feels like Aditya is just starting to move forward. That kind of stop can work when it is meant as the opening of a longer series. Epic First Semester has a premise that many people can recognize. The actors also feel grounded, and the film shares a few solid thoughts about growing up when you are not at home.
