The makers of Awarapan 2 are apparently planning to bring back one of the most prominent voices from the original film, said reports. Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid is said to be in talks with producers Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Bhatt to record a recreated version of the song for the sequel. The singer crooned the iconic track Tera Mera Rishta in the 2007 Emraan Hashmi-starrer. The development has stirred discussion as it comes amid the continued restrictions on Pakistani artists working in the Indian entertainment industry.
Mustafa Zahid May Return For The Sequel’s Music
According to a Mid-day report, the producers are keen to retain the emotional essence of Awarapan and they are in talks to bring back Mustafa Zahid for Tera Mera Rishta. The original soundtrack remains one of Bollywood’s most loved albums, while songs like Toh Phir Aao is enjoying cult status nearly two decades after the film’s release.
There has been no official confirmation from the makers, and the reported move has led to excitement among fans who have long adored Zahid’s voice with the soul of the original film.
Music Has Always Been The Soul Of Awarapan
The sequel has already revived nostalgia and recreated Toh Phir Aao as its title track, composed and sung by Amaal Mallik. Earlier, Amaal had publicly acknowledged Mustafa Zahid’s contribution to the original soundtrack, and called him an integral part of Awarapan’s musical legacy.

The sequel follows Shivam as he is drawn back into a world of violence, redemption and emotional turmoil.
