Tom Holland is once again at the centre of speculation about his future as Spider-Man. A claim circulating online suggests that the actor has signed a massive 10-picture deal that would keep him playing Peter Parker until 2040. The rumour has gained attention after the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has brought Holland back as the web-slinger.

But is Holland really locked into 10 more Spider-Man movies? The claim sounds huge but there is no official confirmation of such a deal. While Marvel and Sony have discussed continuing Holland’s story, the information available about his future does not support the idea of a 10-film contract running until 2040.

Has Tom Holland Signed A 10-Movie Spider-Man Deal?

There is no confirmed 10-picture contract that would see Tom Holland play Spider-Man until 2040, according to a report by Yard Barker.

Sony producer Amy Pascal and other members of the Spider-Man team have spoken about plans for a new trilogy featuring Holland. Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the beginning of that new chapter.

But  a planned trilogy is very different from a confirmed 10-movie agreement. There has been no official announcement stating that Holland has committed to seven additional movies beyond the new trilogy.

The future of Spider-Man has also continued to depend on discussions between Marvel, Sony and Holland, along with the direction of Peter Parker’s story. That makes the claim of a locked 10-film run difficult to support.

What Has Tom Holland Said About His Spider-Man Future?

Tom Holland himself has also spoken about eventually passing the Spider-Man role to another actor. During a July 30 appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Holland revealed that discussions about a future successor had been taking place since Spider-Man: No Way Home. He has expressed interest in helping guide the next actor who eventually takes on the role.

Holland has also discussed the possibility of introducing a new generation of Spider-Man characters, including Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen and Spider-Woman. He even mentioned Owen Cooper as someone who could potentially be part of the next generation of actors taking the franchise forward.

The actor has pointed to Robert Downey Jr. as an important mentor figure from his early Marvel years and has said he would like to offer similar support to whoever eventually follows him as Spider-Man.

At the same time, Holland has made it clear that he does not want to remain Spider-Man forever. He has spoken about wanting to leave the role at the right time rather than continuing until the character becomes repetitive.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is A Box-Office Blockbuster

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already a major box-office success. The film opened in India on July 30, 2026, a day before its global release on July 31, and marks Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man movie.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is set four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker is now living alone in a world that no longer remembers his identity and has dedicated himself completely to being Spider-Man. The cast also includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.

The film has performed strongly at the global box office. As of the latest estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $2.4 billion worldwide and has remained at No. 1 at the US box office for six consecutive weeks.
