In a recent vlog, Farah Khan has been questioned over her comments about Shivangi Joshi’s confessions from ‘Lock Upp’ Season 2. Farah went to Akanksha Chamola, who was a contestant in this show, in her house and chatted about some of the emotions that contestants shared in the show. After a while the conversation started getting a bit heated, with Farah saying in so many words that maybe Shivangi opened up only after watching the other contestants share their harrowing stories.

What Did Farah Khan Say About Shivangi Joshi Sharing Her Childhood Abuse Story?

Then, in the middle of the talk, Farah started to talk about the stories that Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopda and Shreya Kalra had shared about their childhoods with abuse, particularly how they spoke of their personal experiences of abuse. Those were emotional, she added, and “also really hard,” she added, before turning on to what Shivangi Joshi chose to reveal on the show. Farah referenced Shivangi’s previous secret, such as how she and her family dealt with financial issues, and seemed to be referring to the fact that perhaps Shivangi felt she needed to bring up something more serious when the other contestants started talking about their personal experiences.

Why Are Lock Upp Viewers Calling Farah Khan’s Remarks ‘Pathetic’?

Farah’s comments didn’t really sit right with a lot of viewers, because many seemed to think that Shivangi’s decision to open up about her trauma should not be treated as some sort of ploy, for sympathy or whatever. A bunch of people on social media went after Farah, basically asking why Shivangi even picked to share something so personal in the first place, as if that question was supposed to be the whole point.

One viewer straight up called her remarks “pathetic” and added that since Farah is connected to the show, she should have handled the whole topic more sensitively. Another user claimed she kept putting Shivangi in a bad light while also saying she was staying neutral, which doesn’t quite add up.

Fans Accuse Farah Khan Of ‘Belittling’ Shivangi Joshi Over Her Personal Trauma

The controversy has also kindled a broader conversation about how reality shows handle contestants’ personal and painful moments. Many fans feel that Shivangi had every right to share her story and that her choice should not be interpreted as a method to harvest pity. Some viewers felt that Farah’s remarks were a bit tone-deaf, particularly while Shivangi was describing a hard memory from her past.
