Manoj Bajpayee has been able to show a substantial improvement in the box office performance of his new film, ‘Governor,’ on day 3. The film attracted more viewers to theaters on its first two days than on the strength of its typical Sunday attendance. It collected a net of ₹1.40 crore in 1,423 shows across the country on Day 3 of its tour.

This slight but important jump in numbers shows increasing interest, especially among urban viewers who prefer intense, content-driven stories over typical mainstream entertainers. It’s welcome news for the film’s producers, as it opened the weekend on a positive note, following a fairly slow opening on Friday.

Manoj Bajpayee’s Film Crosses ₹4 Cr Gross Mark in Three Days

The robust figures on Sunday have put the film in a better frame of mind and have helped it steady its overall box office figures. The movie has grossed approximately ₹4.14 crore gross and ₹3.45 crore net in India so far.

Within 72 hours of release, the film has already managed to gross ₹4 crore, keeping the film strong and steady despite being a relatively niche genre. The actor is known for his rare and provocative choice of work, making this the opening trend to fit the audience.

Governor Maintains Steady Occupancy Across 1,400+ Shows

The movie’s distribution strategy played a key role in keeping its weekend momentum kind of steady. It managed to hold healthy occupancy across the scheduled shows, and it was screened in over 1,400 locations nationwide. That broad and consistent rollout meant audiences in major cities and metro areas could actually get to it without much friction. With stable show counts and only minimal cancellations, the film added viewers bit by bit, showing that a strong and well-planned theatrical rollout can help niche films find their audience effectively.

Despite Weekend Rise, Film Trails Behind Competitor Releases

While the film did get a quick nudge over the weekend, the overall ride still stayed pretty tough, mainly because the box office crowd was crowded with stiff rivalry. Even with that uptick in collections, it kept falling behind other big releases, particularly Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, which pulled in a wider slice of viewers thanks to its patriotic angle.
