The long-running speculation around Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage has taken a new turn. Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has confirmed that Sunita Ahuja has withdrawn her divorce case against the actor.
Sunita was also spotted at a court in Mumbai’s Bandra. The reason for her appearance was not immediately clear. The development comes after several reports about trouble in the couple’s marriage, along with public remarks from Sunita and responses from Govinda.

Yes. Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has confirmed that Sunita Ahuja has withdrawn the divorce case filed against the actor. He explained that “fights happen and yet things continue”, while stressing that family disputes are often better handled privately.
He told NDTV, “But once it reaches the courts, the whole world knows. Did the world need to know? There was no need. Family matters should stay within the family. Many things get resolved after sitting and talking things through. If the case was to be withdrawn today, why was it filed in the first place? This pains me. Why did we become a spectacle?”
Sinha also said that Govinda had no immediate reaction to the latest development because the withdrawal had happened only minutes before he spoke about it.

Reports about trouble in Govinda and Sunita’s marriage began gaining attention around February last year. The speculation intensified after Sunita spoke about aspects of her personal life in several interviews.
At one point, an ETimes report quoted a source claiming that Sunita had sent a separation notice but that there had been no further movement on it.
But the couple also gave signs that they had reconciled. During Ganesh Chaturthi last year, Govinda and Sunita were seen posing together in front of the media.
Addressing the speculation at the time, Sunita said, “Aaj itna close, close… agar kuch hota toh hum itne nazdeek hotey? Humaari dooriyan hoti! The latest controversy surrounding the couple also involved remarks made by Sunita about Govinda and his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Sunita referred to Govinda as a “sugar daddy” while discussing the actress.
Govinda pushed back against the claims and spoke about the impact such remarks could have on his professional life.
Govinda said, “Jo kaam baahar mujhe milta hai, woh main karta nahin hoon, aur jo main kar raha hoon, usmein aap hastakshep kar rahi hain. He said, “Aur jis waqt maine film shuru ki hai, aap ek bhi kasar nahin chhod rahi hain ki main logon ke dil se utar jaaun, badnaam ho jaaun ya kuch aisa ho jaaye ki mera business na ho. (Now that I have started a film, you are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that I lose public support, get defamed, or suffer setbacks in my work.)”

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in March 1987. The couple initially kept their marriage private and did not publicly reveal it until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988.
