While Vijay has shifted his focus to politics, Jana Nayagan producer Venkata Narayana isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet. In fact, he is hoping the actor returns to cinema someday. During a chat on the film’s release day, the producer shared his excitement as Vijay’s much-awaited film finally reached audiences. Here’s what all he said about the new film and Vijay’s comeback to films.
Calling it an emotional moment, Venkata Narayana urged fans to celebrate Vijay’s legacy while speaking to NDTV. He said, “From today onwards, Jana Nayagan belongs to the people. Let’s celebrate Vijay Sir and his legacy for one last time on the big screen. For me, today has been very important, and I’m very happy and excited to see Jana Nayagan on the big screen.”
The film had its fair share of legal hurdles ahead of release, but the producer said all that is now in the past. “All those are behind us. Let’s look ahead and celebrate the movie,” he said.
Will Vijay Return To Acting After Jana Nayagan?
That’s the question fans have been asking ever since Vijay announced his political journey. While Venkata Narayana admitted that Vijay now has bigger responsibilities, he also made it clear that he’d love to see the superstar back in front of the camera one day.
He continued, “I love him as an actor. Now I’m loving him as a politician and a leader. I want him to continue making movies, continue acting, but he has got bigger responsibilities. We don’t know whether time permits or not, but he should. We would love to see him on the screen.”
Audience Visiting Theatres For Repeated Viewings Of Jana Nayagan?
The producer, in the same chat, also revealed that he had heard several viewers were returning to theatres for repeat viewings. According to him, “We don’t know who the viewers are, but I am told that many of them are buying multiple tickets to come and watch on the big screen again to get out of the guilt and also respect the hard work of the artists and all the technicians. If it is true, it’s really, really appreciable.”
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is being billed as Vijay’s farewell film before his full-time political career. Backed by KVN Productions on a reported budget of Rs 500 crore, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju and Prakash Raj. The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
