And insiders claim producers are even considering offering Meghan Markle a co-executive producer role if she agrees to return.
While no official announcement has been made, sources familiar with the discussions reportedly believe the project could mark Meghan’s long-awaited return to acting after years away from scripted television.

Meghan starred as Rachel Zane on Suits from 2011 until 2018, appearing alongside Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman and Gina Torres. Her character eventually became one of the show’s most recognisable faces before Meghan exited the series ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry.
Following her marriage into the British royal family, Meghan stepped away from acting entirely. Suits continued for two additional seasons before ending in 2019.
At the time, few expected the legal drama to experience a second life years later. But after arriving on Netflix, the series exploded in popularity once again, introducing a completely new generation of viewers to the show.
Between 2023 and 2025, Suits consistently ranked among Netflix’s most-watched titles and reportedly broke streaming records globally. The show even set a record for the highest number of viewing minutes in a single week, crossing an astonishing 3.7 billion minutes watched worldwide.

Producers are reportedly considering Meghan as a co-executive producer
According to insiders, discussions around reviving the franchise became more serious after the overwhelming streaming response. Some reports suggest producers could offer Meghan more than just an acting role this time. Sources close to the conversations claim she may also be considered for a co-executive producer credit, a move that could allow her to share in the project’s long-term profits and creative direction.
Show creator Aaron Korsh has not publicly commented on the latest reports. However, he has previously expressed openness toward revisiting the Suits universe in some form.

Suits: LA struggled while original series found new life online
Interestingly, the renewed interest in the original Suits comes shortly after the franchise’s attempted expansion failed to take off. The spin-off series Suits: LA was cancelled earlier this year after only 13 episodes, despite heavy anticipation surrounding the project. Industry analysts believe the original cast’s chemistry and nostalgia factor played a major role in why viewers continued gravitating toward the original series instead.
For Meghan Markle, the timing of the reports has also sparked speculation about a possible professional reset.
Meghan Markle’s Netflix future remains uncertain
After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix through their production company Archewell Productions. The partnership led to projects including the documentary series Harry & Meghan, which generated huge global attention.
However, reports now suggest the streaming giant may not renew the couple’s original five-year agreement once it expires.
