While the entertainment industry is mourning over the passing of its favorite actor, James Handy, a recent turn of events has further intensified the grief. There was a film scheduled to mark yet another milestone in the actor’s prolific career, but it has since been canceled. It has been reported that James Handy was all set to appear in a movie named “Kickstart, V.” But after the announcement of his demise, the directors decided to cancel the project altogether.

Producer Explains Decision to Cancel the Film

The decision was apparently confirmed by the writer and producer Heidi Anderson-Swan, who had collaborated with Handy in the past on a few different projects. Referring to the actor himself, Swan recalled that he was a very giving and inspirational individual, both on and off set. She further disclosed that prior to Handy’s death, the film itself had faced quite a few delays in its production process. Given all the unfortunate events that surrounded it, Swan eventually concluded that it was better to give up on the film completely.

What Was Kickstart, V About?

The project focused on the adventures of a team of “nerds” who tried to study karate. Alongside the humorous aspects of the storyline and the characters learning karate, there were going to be themes of friendship, maturity, and the unique relationship between the students and their sensei. This movie was intended to have a cheerful mood, which made it sad that it would not get made after all.

Tragic Circumstances Surrounding Handy’s Death

The cancellation comes soon after disturbing news about the cause of death for the actor. As per sources, police received a 911 call on Wednesday and soon found Handy dead on his lawn. Gledhill, the 44-year-old son of Wendy Gledhill, the girlfriend of Handy, has been arrested by police in connection with the murder of the actor.

Sources claim that the caller had stated to the emergency services personnel, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.” The suspect, Michael Gledhill, was soon arrested and charged with murder. His bail has apparently been fixed at $2 million.

Family Reveals Mental Health Struggles

After being arrested, Wendy Gledhill gave out information regarding the ongoing psychological problems experienced by her son. As per the reports, Wendy said that Michael was suffering from schizophrenia and that he was under treatment since several years. Moreover, Wendy alleged that he had discontinued his medicine one week prior to this event.

Remembering James Handy’s Legacy

Handy, who had reached the age of 81 at that point, made an accomplished career in the movie industry as well as on television. In Hollywood, he had been seen in many roles and earned recognition for his talents as a versatile character actor. His most famous role included the role of the evil Van Pelt from Jumanji, in which he shared the screen with the famous Robin Williams.

A Career That Continued Until the End

Despite being in the entertainment industry for decades, Handy still maintained a love for acting and actively searched for new chances in the business. The shelving of Kickstart, V is an indication that the accomplished actor was still keen to try out new projects. With friends and acquaintances reminiscing about his career and life, Handy’s greatest achievement has been his contribution to movies and TV.
