Couple says healing is still a work in progress
The couple avoided discussing the specifics of the lawsuit but emphasised that healing has been their priority since the settlement.
Justin said he had learned to lean on faith, family and community through the ordeal. Emily, on the other hand, noted that recovery is “not linear” and thanked supporters who continued to believe in them. “We’re still healing,” the couple said.
The legal battle
The dispute began from events surrounding the film It Ends With Us. The movie is directed by Justin and co-starred by Blake. The controversy escalated into lawsuits and countersuits that remained in the spotlight for nearly two years. This continued till both sides reached a settlement earlier this year. However, neither Justin Baldoni nor Blake Lively addressed the terms of the settlement in their latest statements.
