Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s Karuppu collected an estimated ₹2.35 crore on Day 19, marking its lowest single-day total so far. Despite the expected third-week slowdown, the fantasy drama remains a major success, nearing ₹187 crore in India and crossing ₹300 crore worldwide.

The supernatural legal drama Karuppu starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan has moved into some kind of fresh phase in its box office ride. After that pretty solid three-week run in the theatres, the film is starting to show that same old slowdown that tends to hit right after a genuinely impressive opening run. While Karuppu has already climbed into being one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2026, and it has grabbed a few standout milestones, the newest collections are hinting the first surge of buzz is slowly tapering down.

‘Karuppu’ Records Its Lowest Single-Day Collection on Day 19

On Day 19, which fell on Tuesday, Karuppu gathered an estimated ₹2.35 crore at the Indian box office, making it the film’s lowest one-day haul since it hit theatres. The fall might look a bit harsh, but honestly, it is fairly normal once a movie starts its third week. The weaker figures point to the standard weekday slowdown, where there are fewer film lovers going to cinema halls compared to the big crowd you usually get over weekends. Even with this dip, the film is still building up its running total, and it keeps up as a decent, notable box office player.

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s Film Sees Expected Third-Week Slowdown

The on-screen chemistry between Suriya and Trisha Krishnan has been one of the film’s biggest highlights, kind of, helping pull in audiences right through its run. But, like most theatrical releases, Karuppu is now sliding into that stage where the collections naturally slow down a bit. Trade experts had figured there would be a dip in the third week, mainly because the movie had a strong and mostly competition-free stretch during its first two weeks.

Weekday Drop Continues as Box Office Momentum Begins to Fade

Even with the dip in collections, Karuppu is still managing to hold up pretty well for a film that has been in theatres for almost three weeks now. The slowdown doesn’t seem so much tied to audience interest thinning out, more like the movie has already pulled in a huge chunk of its target viewership. With its India net collection inching closer to ₹187 crore, the film is now moving into that last phase of the theatrical run, where consistent earnings start mattering more than those big daily surges. Still, it keeps stacking up its impressive total and continues to be a solid box office performer, no question.

Despite Decline, ‘Karuppu’ Remains One of Tamil Cinema’s Major Success Stories of the Year

While the Day 19 numbers may seem kind of modest, they don’t really shift the bigger picture all that much. Karuppu is already standing out as a massive box office win, crossing the ₹300 crore mark worldwide and somehow becoming the highest-grossing film in Suriya’s career. The fantasy action drama also landed a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing Tamil films of all time across the globe, which really underlines how much it’s mattered.

Can the Film Regain Pace and Extend Its Run Before New Releases Arrive?

Now it’s mostly about this coming weekend, and if Karuppu can grab that much-needed bounce at the box office. During the weekdays, the collections have kind of slowed down quite a bit, but usually the better-performing movies tend to show a clear upswing on Saturdays and Sundays. Still, the time left for the movie to properly squeeze out earnings feels a little shorter, because bigger releases like Jana Nayagan and Drishyam 3 are scheduled to show up soon. With theatres starting to juggle their screen space for the newer releases, Karuppu will have to push hard and make the most out of what remains of its run.
