The theatrical run of the action thriller Kattalan has started running into some serious trouble right in its first week or so. After a pretty steady drop across the weekdays, the movie hit its lowest collection yet on Day 6. It looks like audience turnout is gradually thinning out, and viewers seem to be drifting away from that high-octane entertainer, little by little.

Film Earns Just ₹0.23 Crore Amid Reduced Occupancy Across 968 Shows

On its sixth day at the box office, Kattalan managed to earn only ₹0.23 crore net across India, kind of showing a clear slowdown in audience turnout. The film seemed unable to pull in enough crowds, with low occupancy being reported in the morning and afternoon shows across most regions. Because of that, exhibitors quietly reduced its screen presence, now giving it just 968 shows nationwide. The steady dip in everyday collections makes it feel like the early buzz around this star led project has faded real fast, so it is getting harder for the film to keep its grip in a crowded theatrical market.

India Net Total Climbs to ₹8.27 Crore After Six Days

Even though Kattalan has seen a sharper slowdown in its daily earnings, it still managed to tack on a small amount to its overall domestic tally. After taking in the Day 6 numbers, the film’s India net collection is now ₹8.27 crore, and its domestic gross has climbed to ₹9.51 crore so far.

The present pace, though, seems to point towards a clear dip in momentum, and that makes it harder for the film to grow a noticeably higher lifetime total unless there’s a solid turnaround soon.

Weekend Performance Becomes Crucial for Survival at Box Office

The sharp weekday decline has now put real pressure on the film’s second weekend, which is kind of a big deal, honestly. Usually, action-driven movies lean a lot on solid weekend footfall from families and also casual viewers to make up for weaker weekdays. For this one, a clear uptick in collections over the next couple of days isn’t only good for profitability, but it’s also essential so it doesn’t get pushed out of theatres by newer releases, you know.

Can ‘Kattalan’ Recover Momentum or Continue Its Downward Trend?

Kattalan now sort of ends up in this really uncertain place at the box office. Trade experts are watching, like super closely, if the film can settle its collections a bit or keep sliding down even more. If it can’t gather some momentum over the weekend, then the theatrical run might get cut short, and it won’t be a good sign at all. What started off like a promising release is now starting to feel like it could turn into a situation of lost potential, you know, struggling to keep going in the long run.
