Kelly Clarkson is giving fans something they have been waiting for. The Grammy-winning singer has announced that her new single, I’d Be Lyin’, will be released on July 17. This will mark her return to new music after nearly two years.
The announcement arrived on July 2 through an Instagram post where Clarkson also revealed that fans can now pre-save the track.
Kelly Clarkson Is Back Into Music With A New Single
Sharing the update on social media, Clarkson wrote, “New Single? #IdBeLyin Pre-save link in bio! #July17.”
And obviously it caught the attention of fans, many of whom have been eagerly waiting for new music from the original American Idol winner.
One fan commented, “I’d be lyin’ if I said I wasn’t obsessed with this song already.”
Another wrote, “July 17th is officially a national holiday.”
“Where have you been? What took you so long? YAAAAAAY NEW KELLY MUSIC,” someone else said
The excitement comes after her hiatus on the music front. Clarkson’s last album, the holiday record When Christmas Comes Around… Again, was released in 2024 while her last studio album featuring original material, Chemistry, arrived in 2023. Since then, the singer has largely focused on television and live performances.
Kelly Clarkson Has A Busy Year Ahead
The new single arrives at a time when Clarkson is juggling several major projects. She is preparing to resume her Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas where she performs many of her biggest hits in an intimate production inspired by the atmosphere of a recording studio. The show features chart-toppers such as Because of You, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Stronger, Walk Away and My Life Would Suck Without You, along with fan-favourite Kellyoke performances that have become a staple of her television career.
Clarkson is also set to return as a coach on The Voice for Season 30 which premieres later this year on NBC.
The Kelly Clarkson Show Last Season
The music announcement also comes as Clarkson prepares to wrap up another significant chapter of her career. The Kelly Clarkson Show is set to conclude after its seventh season.
While Clarkson has not shared detailed plans for what comes next beyond her current commitments, she has previously spoken about wanting to spend more time with her children.
