Kim Kardashian is known for her love of luxury cars but her latest purchase proves she isn’t just interested in sleek supercars and ultra expensive sedans. The reality TV star and entrepreneur has now added a beautifully restored 1973 Ford Bronco to her collection and reports suggest she spent around $285,000 (approximately Rs 2.74 crore) on the custom built SUV.
Her new car grabbed attention after Kim shared a series of photos on Instagram. Parked outside her mountain home, the forest green Bronco featured prominently in the photo dump as Kim struck different poses around it.
Alongside the pictures, she simply wrote, “Taking the long way home,” while tagging Florida based Velocity Restorations, the company that rebuilt the classic SUV.
Why Did Kim Kardashian Buy This Vintage SUV?
According to reports, Kim bought the restored Ford Bronco specifically for use at her summer home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Although the vehicle was first delivered to Los Angeles a few weeks earlier, it was later transported to Idaho where it now appears to have found its permanent parking spot.
Reports also claim Kim was introduced to Velocity Restorations through her brother-in-law, Travis Barker, who has also purchased vehicles from the company.
Instead of waiting through the builder’s usual production schedule, which reportedly takes around 14 to 16 weeks, Kim chose a Bronco that had already been completed and was ready for immediate delivery.
What Makes Kim Kardashian’s Ford Bronco So Expensive?
At first glance, Kim Kardashian’s Bronco looks every bit like a classic SUV from the 1970s. But do not let vintage styling fool you as this car is filled with modern upgrades.
The vehicle comes in a forest green with a Ranger Brown interior. Inside, it features ProCar high back seats, a wooden steering wheel, a Tuffy centre console and a vintage inspired air conditioning system.
The cabin comes with a more rugged finish while the rear passengers sit in an open air section.
Classic Looks, Modern Performance
While the exterior stays true to the original 1973 design, the SUV has been completely modernised under the hood.
Velocity Restorations has equipped the Bronco with a Ford Performance 5.0 litre Coyote V8 engine that produces 460 horsepower. It is paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission.
According to reports, restored 1973 Broncos from the company generally sell in the mid $270,000 range. Kim’s reported $285,000 purchase suggests her SUV includes additional custom features.
A New Addition To Kim Kardashian’s Luxury Garage
The Ford Bronco joins a garage already packed with some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles.
Kim reportedly owns a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Rolls Royce Ghost, a Lamborghini Urus, several Mercedes Maybachs and multiple Range Rovers. Over the years, she has also customised many of her cars to match her signature minimalist aesthetic, including wrapping several of them in shades of grey. She even transformed her Lamborghini Urus with a fuzzy white exterior for a SKIMS campaign.
