Venky Reviews, meanwhile, described the film as an underwhelming horror comedy despite appreciating Satya’s performance. The review read, “A Below Par Horror-Comedy With Satya as the Only Bright Spot! First hour drags until the Korean concept is introduced, and that’s when the film finally starts to get engaging. Second half also starts off interesting but goes nowhere after a point and starts to feel tedious. Satya’s comedy is the saving grace, with a few of his sequences in both halves working well. Outside of that, the execution is clumsy and logicless for the most part. The songs are ineffective, and the BGM is mostly repetitive, overly loud EDM music. The AI fight in the climax is atrocious and a complete head scratcher. Not up to the mark! Rating: 2.25/5.”

What Is Korean Kanakaraju About?
Korean Kanakaraju centres on Kanakaraju, an aggressive young man from Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema region whose life takes an unexpected turn after he accidentally consumes the ashes of a mysterious Korean man mixed with alcohol. The bizarre incident leaves him possessed which causes him to transform into a powerful and unpredictable fighter whenever someone mentions the word “Korea.”
Determined to free himself from the spirit, Kanakaraju joins hands with his close friend Kishtappa and Korean interpreter Chaitra before travelling to South Korea.
Korean Kanakaraju: Cast And Crew
Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, Korean Kanakaraju stars Varun Tej in the lead role alongside Ritika Nayak, who plays Korean interpreter Chaitra. Satya essays the role of Kanakaraju’s friend Kishtappa, while Sunil, Srinivas Avasarala, Muralidhar Goud and VTV Ganesh appear in key supporting roles.
