Kushal Tandon recently talked about his friendship with Zaid Darbar, who is married to Kushal’s former partner Gauahar Khan. When they appeared together on that reality show, Kushal said he never really looked at Zaid like he was Gauahar’s husband. It was more like, he was just another contestant, and yeah, they started becoming friends pretty fast. Kushal also likened their connection to those boarding school friends’ type of bond, and he added that there was no awkwardness between them.

Kushal said his relationship with Gauahar is now sort of a thing of the past, like it happened roughly 15 years ago. He mentioned that everyone has grown and matured since then, and so there isn’t any bad blood between them at all. They still end up meeting occasionally outside the show, though, so he couldn’t really see why things should feel awkward. This way of looking at it also helped him keep things relaxed with Zaid inside the house.

Kushal’s playful comment about Zaid liking all his things, real quick, kind of turned into a whole talking point outside the show. Then later he said there wasn’t anything serious underneath it, you know, just part of their normal daily banter. Zaid would often ask to “share” Kushal’s cigarette, coffee, or protein shake, and that’s what made the joke come up. Even so, some viewers read it in a different way, but Kushal and Zaid both took it as friendly teasing. After that, Zaid said Kushal apologized, though Kushal still insisted the line was said casually and with no bad intention at all.

Things got kinda tense in the house after Vanshaj Singh came back to the show. Kushal said Vanshaj told Zaid about the negative reactions to his comments, and he thinks it was some kind of tactic to set up the house against him so that a rift could form between him and Zaid. And even with the pressure going up, plus some resistance from other contestants, Kushal said he was still standing by the people he had promised to support, and he refused to back down.
