Ted Lasso star Juno Temple has revealed she has quietly married her long-term boyfriend, Polish actor Michal Szymanski, whom she first met while he was working as a driver for her co-star Hannah Waddingham during the show’s second season.
Temple, 37, confirmed the marriage during a TFI Unplugged special alongside co-stars Waddingham, Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, when the cast were asked what had happened in their lives during the three-year gap between the show’s third and fourth seasons. “I got married, we met on season two of Ted Lasso,” Temple told the programme, adding that the wedding had taken place “in the last two years,” though she did not specify an exact date.

The couple’s origin story traces back to the set of the Apple TV comedy, where Szymanski was employed as Waddingham’s driver rather than working alongside Temple directly. Waddingham herself played matchmaker, recalling that Temple had asked her permission before pursuing him. “She said, ‘Can I ask him on a date?’ I was like, ‘Yes, you can, he’s gorgeous,'” Waddingham said during the same interview. Temple described the resourceful arrangement the pair devised to spend time together while Szymanski was technically on the clock, saying, “He was driving Hannah and they had a secret code where I could go and meet them and accidentally Hannah’s appointment would run over.”
