Mirzapur The Movie has finally hit theatres today, September 4. The film has brought the popular crime drama franchise to the big screen. With Ali Fazal returning as Guddu Pandit, Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya and several familiar faces from the Mirzapur universe making their return, fans have plenty to look forward to in the film. But there is one important reason why audiences should not rush out of the theatre once the main story ends.

The film features a post-credit scene that has already become one of its biggest talking points. Shriya Pilgaonkar, who returns as Sweety Gupta, even asked fans on social media to remain seated until the credits are over.

“Make sure to stay post credit – MIRZAPUR THE MOVIE!” she wrote.

Early reviews have also highlighted the sequence with one review stating, “Some of the film’s best moments come in the post-credit scene, so stay seated till the very end.”

So, what exactly happens after the credits roll? Here is the Mirzapur The Movie post-credit scene explained.

Mirzapur The Movie Post-Credit Scene: What Happens?

The post-credit sequence begins on a surprisingly casual note. Guddu Pandit, Munna Bhaiya and Bablu are seen together at a salon. Guddu and Munna are getting facials while Bablu is sitting beside them busy texting Golu on his phone. It does not initially look like the kind of tense situation audiences would expect from the Mirzapur universe.

Munna eventually notices Bablu using his phone and asks whether he is involved with a girlfriend. Bablu is too shy to say anything. Guddu intervenes and jokes that I have a girlfriend who he loves a lot.

The conversation soon turns into a playful competition between Guddu and Munna.

Mirzapur The Movie Post-Credit Scene: Who Are Guddu And Munna In Love With?

Guddu and Munna decide to reveal the names of their respective love interests at the same time. They agree to count to three and say the names together. That little game leads to the scene’s biggest revelation.

Guddu says Swaranjali while Munna says Sweety.

The two immediately realise that they are talking about the same girl. What began as a light-hearted exchange suddenly takes a completely different turn as Guddu and Munna discover that they have fallen for the same person.

The situation escalates quickly and the scene ends with gunshots. Instead of explaining what happens next, the movie cuts away at that point. The audience is left with an unexpected cliffhanger.

Mirzapur The Movie Post-Credit Scene: Is It A Hint For Sequel?

The ending has naturally led to plenty of discussion among fans. The idea of Guddu and Munna finding themselves connected through the same love interest gives the franchise another possible storyline to explore.

But the scene should not be treated as confirmation of another movie or a new installment. The makers have not officially announced that this particular sequence is setting up the next chapter of the franchise or provides a hint at season 4 which is already in works.

Mirzapur The Movie: What Is The Film About?

Mirzapur The Movie takes the franchise into a feature-film format while bringing back its familiar world of crime, power struggles, revenge and shifting loyalties. The story features several of the characters audiences have followed through the series, including Guddu Pandit, Munna Bhaiya and Kaleen Bhaiya.
