Netflix has scored another major hit in the thriller genre with I Will Find You. The eight episode limited series, based on Harlan Coben’s 2023 novel of the same name, has climbed to the top of the streamer’s global charts. The series has become the latest success in Netflix’s long standing collaboration with the bestselling author.
What Is I Will Find You About?
I Will Find You follows David Burroughs, played by Sam Worthington, a man serving a prison sentence after being convicted of murdering his young son, Matthew. The tragedy has destroyed his life and with the evidence stacked against him, David has little hope left.
Everything changes when his sister-in-law, Rachel, played by Britt Lower, comes across evidence which suggests that Matthew may still be alive. David decides to escape from the prison and begins search for his son.
As the story unfolds, David realises that his son’s disappearance is linked to a much larger conspiracy. Every answer leads to another mystery.
Netflix’s Thriller Continues To Dominate Globally
The numbers show just how popular I Will Find You has become. According to Netflix Tudum, the limited series has remained in the platform’s Global Top 10 for three consecutive weeks. Since its release, it has accumulated an impressive 88 million hours of viewing worldwide.
For the week of July 6 to July 12, the thriller claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s global TV rankings with 11.5 million views and 63 million hours watched. It finished ahead of several other popular series such as Worst Neighbor Ever Season 1, Little House on the Prairie Season 1 and Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2.
Another Successful Harlan Coben Adaptation For Netflix
I Will Find You is the newest addition to Netflix’s growing library of Harlan Coben adaptations. The partnership between the streaming platform and the bestselling thriller writer began with Safe and has expanded into several successful limited series over the years like The Stranger, Stay Close, The Woods, The Innocent, Just One Look and Run Away. These all  have  been adapted from Coben’s novels.
With I Will Find You continuing that trend, the collaboration shows little sign of slowing down.
What Do Critics And Audiences Think About I Will Find You?
Although I Will Find You has become one of Netflix’s biggest streaming successes, critical reactions have been mixed. The series currently holds a 60 per cent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes while its audience score stands slightly higher at 61 per cent.
Even so, ratings have done little to affect its popularity as numbers don’t lie.
