Off-campus star Mika Abdalla has called it quits with fiancé Jake Short. A representative for Abdalla confirmed the separation in a chat with an entertainment portal. Despite parting ways, the two continue to support each other and will remain friends. FYI, Abdalla and Short exchanged rings a year ago.
The source told US Weekly that Abdalla and Jake were “no longer together”. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect,” they added.
The timeline of their breakup has not been reported, though. Her representative, too, avoided disclosing the time they decided to split.
Mika Abdalla And Jake Short’s Relationship
After meeting for the first time on the sets of Sex Appeal in 2021, sparks flew between Abadalla and Short. Soon, they started dating each other. The former couple took the plunge after four years and confirmed their engagement on Instagram.
Short’s manager, Brian Medavoy, congratulated the two at the time via a post on Instagram where he wrote, “An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here’s to forever.”
Not one to display their romance publicly, the two kept their relationship private. However, they had once joked about their wedding plans during a July 2024 episode of the podcast American High.
In a cute moment, Short popped the question to Mika Abdalla, “Will you marry me?” In love, Abdalla was quick enough to reply, “yes.”
Host Jeremy Garelick quickly reacted with a sarcastic remark, saying, “Most romantic proposal ever.”
What’s Next For Off Campus Star Mika Abdalla
Mika Abdalla, who is currently riding high on the positive response to Off-Campus, is is now busy filming its sequel. The upcoming season will follow her character Allie’s love story.
As per Marie Claire, the show’s second season went on floors on June 1, 2026 in Canada. The filming is expected to continue till September and the show will make it to a streaming platform in May 2027. The premiere date has not been confirmed yet.
Off Camous is based on the books by Elle Kennedy. It showcases the romance between a university’s star hockey player and a music student. It stars Ella Bright, Khobe Clarke, Belmont Cameli, Stephen Kalyn, Antonio Cipriano and Jalen Thomas Brooks, of course apart from Mika Abdalla.
