Peabo Bryson, the two-time Grammy-winning R&B singer, has died at the age of 75. According to statements released by his family, Bryson breathed his last on June 2. The powerful voice behind some of Disney’s most beloved songs passed away days after suffering a stroke. He was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death.
 
The legendary singer enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades. He earned acclaim for his soulful ballads, chart-topping duets and timeless romantic hits. Bryson became a household name in the early 1990s through his Oscar-winning Disney collaborations. These included “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle. Both songs won Grammy Awards and remain among the most recognisable tracks in Disney history.
 

Who Was Peabo Bryson?

 
Born Robert Peapo Bryson in Greenville, South Carolina, the singer began his musical journey in the 1970s. Later, he launched a successful solo career. Over the years, Bryson released more than 20 albums and collaborated with artists including Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole and Kenny G. His vocals and delivery helped make him one of R&B’s most celebrated balladeers.
 
Bryson had previously suffered a heart attack in 2019 but continued to perform following recovery. His death came shortly after reports emerged that he had been receiving medical care following a stroke.
 
In a heartfelt statement, his family thanked fans around the world for their prayers and support. They added that Bryson’s music and legacy would continue to inspire generations.
