Actor Rajesh Sharma has been hospitalised after reportedly suffering an insect bite while shooting for an upcoming film starring Prabhas. The actor is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kolkata after his condition worsened following the incident. His family has since shared an official health update, revealing that he remains under close medical observation.
According to a statement shared by actor Sudipa Chatterjee on behalf of Rajesh Sharma’s family, the incident took place at Ramoji Film City while the actor was shooting for a film featuring Prabhas.
What Happened To Rajesh Sharma?
After pack-up, Rajesh was reportedly chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he felt an insect bite, believed to be from a bug or a poisonous spider. Since the bite initially appeared minor, he did not seek immediate medical attention and continued with his schedule.
Rajesh Sharma’s Health Deteriorated Later
Around six hours after the bite, Rajesh began experiencing severe pain in his right leg. Despite feeling unwell, he boarded a flight back to Kolkata. During the journey, his condition reportedly worsened. He developed a high fever, became increasingly restless and started showing signs of a serious infection.
The following day, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria where doctors immediately began treatment.
Rajesh Sharma Health Update
The family’s statement revealed that Rajesh continues to suffer from a high fever, breathlessness and an advancing infection in his right leg. According to the update, the infection has spread from his toes to his knee, with large blisters developing on the affected area.
Dr Avijit Bhattacharya, who is treating the actor, said it is still too early to make a definite assessment of his condition. Rajesh remains under close observation and is not yet out of danger.
Doctors Monitoring Risk
Doctors are also monitoring Rajesh Sharma for possible complications. According to the family’s statement, there are concerns that the infection could lead to the formation of a blood clot. If such a clot travels to the lungs, it could become life-threatening. The hospital’s medical team is conducting further investigations.
Which Prabhas Film Was Rajesh Sharma Shooting?
The statement confirmed that the incident occurred while Rajesh Sharma was filming for a project starring Prabhas at Ramoji Film City. However, it has not been revealed whether the shoot was for Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauzi or Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, both of which are currently in production.
