Latest updates on Ramayana
The latest leak comes just days after the makers unveiled the film’s first official glimpse. It introduced the scale of the mythological epic. The teaser generated massive buzz but also drew criticism from a section of social media users over its visual effects. More recently, filmmaker and content creator Dhruv Parikshit said that he visited the film’s set. He claimed that the version released publicly featured intentionally toned-down VFX to fuel online discussions and generate publicity.
Producer Namit Malhotra has meanwhile described Ramayana as a landmark project for Indian cinema. He said that he hopes audiences judge the film only after watching the final version on the big screen.
Cast, plot and release date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Yash essays the role of Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The film retells the timeless story of Prince Ram. His exile leads to the abduction of Sita by Ravana, and this set the stage for the epic battle between good and evil. The makers have announced that Part 1 will release during Diwali 2026. Ramayana Part 2 will be out in theatres in Diwali 2027.
