Less than a year since mega-star Amitabh Bachchan made news for his investment in Ayodhya, now it’s actor Ranbir Kapoor who has done something similar by buying a piece of land worth ₹3.31 crore in the holy city. The actor, who is set to star in the role of Lord Ram in filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated movie ‘Ramayana’, has bought a prime piece of land in Ayodhya.

This shows that his interest in the city does not only stem from an investment point of view but also from an emotional point of view due to its importance as a tourist site after the construction of Ram Mandir.

A Premium Property in Ayodhya

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has bought a plot measuring 2,134 square feet in “The Sarayu,” which is a luxury residential complex developed by the House of Abhinandan Lodha. The luxury property project has been promoted as one of the premium real estate projects in Ayodhya.

Commenting on his purchase, Ranbir said that the purchase meant much more to him than the actual acquisition of the property. As per the actor, the holy city of Ayodhya holds immense significance within the Indian cultural heritage. Further, Ranbir shared that buying property in the city had fulfilled his life-long aspiration and had helped him establish a legacy in the city associated with Lord Ram.

The star was also pleased with the ease with which he purchased the property, particularly how the entire transaction was carried out digitally.

Connection to Ramayana

Timing has always played an important part in any activity, and the timing of Ranbir Kapoor’s investments seems rather interesting. It should be noted that he is expected to star in the upcoming film Ramayana Part 1 that is set to hit theaters during Diwali 2026. Being involved in this project, Ranbir is expected to portray Lord Ram – one of the most popular films in the history of Bollywood.

Considering Ranbir’s involvement with the movie, the decision to invest in the property seems very symbolic and meaningful for some fans. As it has already been mentioned above, Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram. That is why, the property investment seems rather interesting and exciting for people expecting to see Ranbir playing his role.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Earlier Investment

Prior to Ranbir Kapoor’s acquisition of land in Ayodhya, the renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan had made substantial investments in the burgeoning real estate sector in Ayodhya. According to reports, the actor had bought four properties in the vicinity of the Ram Mandir region. In one of the biggest acquisitions, he is believed to have acquired land measuring 25,000 square feet for ₹40 crore.

There has been a spurt in demand for properties in Ayodhya since the inauguration of the Ram Mandir temple in the city sometime earlier this year. The enhanced infrastructure facilities, increased footfalls, and religious importance have made Ayodhya a prime destination for investors.

It is important to note that Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor both graced the occasion of the Ram Mandir pran pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Growing Real Estate Portfolio

The recent acquisition of Ranbir Kapoor in Ayodhya forms another part of the actor’s growing property portfolio. Over the last few years, the Kapoor family has gained widespread attention due to its massive real estate ventures in Mumbai.

Recently, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, along with his wife, Alia Bhatt, and his daughter, Raha, moved into an estate that was newly built for them in the affluent locality of Pali Hill, Mumbai. This estate reportedly has a value close to ₹250 crore and is known for its grey and white architectural style.

This is not just another costly acquisition for him, but it represents great sentimental value to the Kapoors, who have bought this property because it was previously owned by Raj Kapoor and his wife, Krishna Raj Kapoor, until 1980, when it got transferred to the hands of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. It is alleged that Neetu Kapoor is one of the co-owners of this property till today.

It appears that the acquisition of these properties in Mumbai and Ayodhya reflects the cultural aspect of this actor along with his inclination towards building up a legacy for himself and investing in his future.
