Mardaani 3 stays strong at the box office, crosses ₹22 crore in five days, and moves ahead of Rani Mukerji’s previous hit despite limited screens and mixed reviews.

Rani Mukerji’s Action Drama Mardaani 3 Shows Impressive Box Office Stability
Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 is continuing to perform well at the box office, even on regular working days. On its fifth day in cinemas, the film earned solid numbers and has now gone ahead of the lifetime collection of her previous hit. Despite releasing on limited screens and receiving mixed reviews, the film’s box office trend remains encouraging.
Known for her powerful acting, Rani Mukerji has once again impressed viewers. The film, which released on Friday, began drawing audiences from day one. While reviews have been mixed, Rani’s strong performance is being praised widely and is seen as the main reason people are choosing to watch the movie in theatres. Competing with Border 2 and running on fewer screens, Mardaani 3 still managed a strong weekend and is holding steady during the week.
Made on a mid-range budget and released on limited screens, Mardaani 3 earned over ₹17 crore in its opening weekend. There were doubts about weekday performance due to mixed reviews. However, on Monday, the film collected ₹2.40 crore, which was less than a 50% drop from its ₹4 crore opening day collection. This showed that the movie remained stable.
Trade reports say the Tuesday collection, which marked the fifth day, came close to ₹3 crore. Special discount offers on movie tickets helped bring more viewers to theatres again. With this, the total five-day collection of the film has crossed ₹22 crore.
Rani Mukerji’s last film, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (2023), was based on an emotional real-life story of a mother. It received strong reviews and was appreciated by audiences. Even with a limited release, the film earned ₹21.67 crore in total and was considered successful.
Now, Mardaani 3 has crossed that number in just five days, showing stronger commercial momentum.
Reports suggest that Mardaani 3 was made on a budget of around ₹50 crore. However, it had already earned ₹37 crore before release through pre-release business. This means the box office earnings beyond ₹20 crore are now adding to profits. Because of this, the film is already turning into a profitable venture for its makers within its first week.
So far, the biggest film in the Mardaani franchise is Mardaani 2, which earned more than ₹47 crore net and remains Rani Mukerji’s biggest solo hit. It now remains to be seen whether Mardaani 3 can surpass that milestone in the coming days.
