Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Irumudi is all set to arrive in theatres this month. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the family drama marks the first collaboration between the actor and filmmaker and promises an emotional story centred on faith, redemption and the bond between a father and his daughter.
The makers revealed the first glimpse of the film in June which offered audiences a first look at Ravi Teja in a role that is markedly different from his recent outings.

Ravi Teja Steps Into An Emotionally Driven Role
In Irumudi, Ravi Teja plays a father carrying the weight of a difficult past. Struggling with alcohol addiction and haunted by his earlier life, the character lives with his young daughter near a waterfall while trying to leave his troubles behind.
When his daughter expresses a wish, he decides to undertake the sacred Ayyappa Deeksha pilgrimage. The journey becomes more than a religious ritual and transforms into a deeply personal path towards redemption, self-discovery and rebuilding his relationship with his child.
The title itself draws inspiration from the sacred Irumudi bag carried by devotees during the pilgrimage.
Father-Daughter Bond Takes Centre Stage
The relationship between Ravi Teja’s character and his daughter is at the heart of the narrative. Several emotional moments between the two hint at a story driven by sacrifice, hope and unconditional love rather than action alone.
Child actor Baby Nakshathra plays Ravi Teja’s daughter while Priya Bhavani Shankar appears as his wife, Kaveri.
Following the release of the film’s poster, Ravi Teja shared his thoughts about the project on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Some stories choose you at the right moment in life. Feeling blessed to be part of one such story again, letting belief lead the way.”
Irumudi: Cast, Crew And Release Date
Irumudi is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana and is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar. The film’s music has been composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
The family drama stars Ravi Teja, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Baby Nakshathra in the lead roles alongside Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, Swasika and Ramesh Indira in pivotal parts.
Irumudi is scheduled to release in theatres on August 21. The film follows Ravi Teja’s recent appearances in the Telugu films Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi (2026) and Mass Jathara (2025).
