Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, 90, has been admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai. Sources confirmed that he is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Family members rushed to the hospital soon after news of his admission surfaced. His eldest son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, visited him at Lilavati Hospital and left after spending time with his father.
Several members of the Khan family were seen at the hospital. Salim Khan’s daughter Alvira Khan, son-in-law Atul Agnihotri, and grandson Ayaan Agnihotri visited him. Actor Ayush Sharma, husband of Arpita Khan, also arrived at the hospital to check on his father-in-law’s health.

Salim Khan remains one of Bollywood’s most respected screenwriters. Along with his former writing partner Javed Akhtar, he penned some of Indian cinema’s biggest classics, including Sholay, Zanjeer, Haathi Mere Saathi, and Mr. India.
He celebrated his 90th birthday on November 24, 2025, surrounded by family and well-wishers. Days before that, he and his wife, Salma Khan, marked their 61st wedding anniversary.
Despite his age, Salim Khan has maintained an active lifestyle. During an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman Khan once shared insights into his father’s eating habits. He said Salim Khan enjoys hearty meals and has “two-three parathas, then rice, then meat, and dessert - twice a day”.
Salim Khan also follows a daily walking routine from his Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments, to the Bandstand area — a glimpse fans saw in the Prime Video series Angry Young Men.
Fans across the country are now praying for the legendary writer’s speedy recovery as they await further updates on his health.
