Salman Khan is back on everyone’s feed. The actor shared a set of pictures showing his ripped physique. But that is not the only thing grabbing attention as fans noticed something beyond his action hero avatar.
On Tuesday, Salman treated fans to a series of photos featuring his rugged new look. Sporting ripped blue jeans, a fitted black vest and a cowboy hat, the actor proudly showed off his toned biceps.
But instead of a long caption, Salman chose to keep things short and intriguing. He simply wrote, “Maatrubhumi.”
That single word immediately got fans connecting the dots because Maatrubhumi is also the title of Salman’s upcoming film. This made many wonder if the actor had just dropped a subtle hint about the much awaited project.
The film was initially expected to release in April this year before being postponed. Since then, the makers have not announced a new release date.
The Post Comes Days After CBFC Rumours
Salman’s latest post also arrived shortly after Salman Khan Films addressed reports claiming Maatrubhumi had run into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
In an official statement shared on Instagram, the production house dismissed the reports and clarified that the film has not even been submitted for certification yet.
The statement read, “Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless.”
It further added, “We request that media outlets and individuals refrain from circulating unverified information. Any official updates regarding the film will be shared by Salman Khan Films through its official channels only.”
Why The Film Has Been Making Headlines
Before Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace even reached theatres, it had already found itself in the middle of a controversy. The project was first introduced as Battle of Galwan before the makers changed its title to Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace.
When the teaser was released, it drew reactions from sections of Chinese social media as well as state backed media. As reported by The Indian Express, several users on Weibo objected to the way the 2020 Galwan Valley clash was portrayed. Meanwhile, Global Times quoted experts who argued that the film reflected an emotional interpretation of the incident and would not change historical facts. Some also questioned whether releasing a film on the subject was appropriate at a time when India and China were working towards improving bilateral ties.
Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars Salman and Chitrangda Singh in lead roles. The action drama is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
