Salim Khan health update: Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 17, 2026, which raised an alarm among his fans and well-wishers. Reports have confirmed that his health is stable and that he is being closely monitored by doctors.
According to the report, senior physician Dr Jalil Parkar confirmed that Salim Khan has already undergone surgery and is currently on ventilator support. Sharing an update on his condition, the doctor said, “He has undergone surgery and is now kept on a ventilator. His condition is stable now. At 11am on Wednesday, we will issue a press bulletin with the consent of the family and relatives.”
Other reports stated that Salim Khan was brought to the hospital around 8:30 am and is stable but is under close observation regarding his clinical status. The report further added that a detailed medical bulletin would be released at 11 am on Wednesday, with due consent of the relatives & maintaining the confidentiality of the patient to the utmost.
As per reports, Salim Khan’s blood pressure reportedly shot up, leading to internal bleeding on the right side of his brain. Doctors later revealed that some blood vessels had burst, which caused the internal bleeding. To address the condition, the veteran writer was taken in for surgery.
After Salim Khan’s admission on Tuesday morning, the hospital management issued an official statement in the evening, confirming that he was stable and under strict medical observation. Dr Jalil Parkar said a specialised medical team attended to him, including neurologist Dr Vinay Chavan, cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon, neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, and Dr Bineet Ahluwalia.
Several members of the Khan family were seen at the hospital on Tuesday evening. Salman Khan, along with siblings Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan, and Arpita Khan, visited to check on their father. His grandsons, Nirvaan and Arhaan, were also present at the hospital to enquire about his health. Reports said Salman Khan appeared visibly distressed when he left the hospital late at night.
No sooner did the news spread than the social media sites were flooded with messages of concern and prayers for Salim Khan’s speedy recovery. Fans and members of the film fraternity hoped that the legendary screenwriter would soon be back in good health.
