Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi has finally received a release update. Putting speculation about a delay to rest, the makers unveiled a new poster on Monday and confirmed that the film will hit theatres this year only.

From Battle of Galwan To Maatrubhoomi
The film was originally announced as Battle of Galwan. In April, Salman Khan revealed its new title, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, by sharing a new poster on Instagram.
The announcement also carried the film’s tagline, “May War Rest in Peace.” The poster featured Salman peeking from behind a blood stained log wrapped in barbed wire.
Salman Khan’s Viral Appearance Sparked Health Concerns
The latest update comes just after Salman made headlines during a visit to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) office in Mumbai. The actor attended the inauguration of the authority’s new Data Collection and Verification Support Centre and also distributed house keys to beneficiaries.
But it wasn’t the event itself that grabbed attention. Videos and pictures from the programme went viral with several social media users saying Salman appeared leaner than usual and expressing concern about his health.
The actor later responded in his trademark style. Sharing new pictures on Instagram, Salman wrote, “Aap logon ki tabiyat kaisi hai (How is everyone’s health?),” a caption many fans interpreted as a light hearted response to the online discussion.
The post received an enthusiastic reaction, with actor Mahhi Vij commenting, “toooo goooodddddd,” along with laughing emojis.
What Is Maatrubhumi About?
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi is inspired by the June 15, 2020, Galwan Valley clash, one of the most significant military confrontations between India and China in recent decades. The conflict took place along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), where Indian and Chinese soldiers engaged in hand-to-hand combat. This combat left 20 Indian soldiers dead.
In the film, Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who led his troops during the border confrontation.
The cast also includes Chitrangda Singh as the female lead, with Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia playing key roles. The film’s music has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
