Shawn Mendes has officially confirmed his relationship with Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine. The Grammy-nominated singer shared an adorable birthday tribute for the actress on Instagram. Mendes celebrated Marquezine's 31st birthday by posting a series of photos and videos featuring the couple together.
The post, which also included moments from a community visit in Rio de Janeiro, drew attention online, with fans calling it the singer's "hard launch" of their relationship.
The singer accompanied the post with a message, writing, "Feliz aniversário my baby. You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you've truly changed my life, and I am so so grateful for you."
He also expressed his love in Portuguese, writing, "Eu te amo muito muito muitoo," which translates to, "I love you so, so, so much."
The birthday post featured several intimate moments from the couple's time together at Casa Amarela Providencia, a community organisation in Rio de Janeiro.
One video showed Marquezine being welcomed by a room full of children who excitedly ran towards her to give her hugs. Another clip captured the actress dancing and singing as the children celebrated her birthday.
Mendes also included a video of himself smiling alongside two children during the visit along with a photograph of Marquezine posing with her dog. He later shared another picture of the two together on his Instagram Stories.

Bruna Marquezine is one of Brazil's most recognisable actresses and has spent more than two decades working in television and film.
Born Bruna Reis Maia in Rio de Janeiro, she began appearing in commercials when she was just five years old. She later adopted her grandmother's surname, Marquezine, as her professional name which has since become one of the biggest names in Brazilian entertainment.
Her acting breakthrough came at the age of seven when she starred in the acclaimed Brazilian television drama Mulheres Apaixonadas (Women in Love). Her performance earned widespread recognition and established her as one of the country's most promising child actors.
Following her early success, Marquezine built an impressive career in Brazilian television. She became a regular face on TV Globo, the country's largest television network, by appearing in several hit telenovelas over the years. Alongside acting, she also built a successful career as a fashion model and has worked with several major international luxury brands.
Marquezine expanded her career beyond Brazil in 2023 when she made her English-language debut in DC Studios' superhero film Blue Beetle.
She played Jenny Kord, the female lead opposite Xolo Maridueña, who portrayed Jaime Reyes, the new Blue Beetle. The film introduced Marquezine to a global audience and marked a major milestone in her international career.
She is also expected to appear in the upcoming action-comedy Velhos Bandidos.
Before going public with Marquezine, Mendes was in an on-and-off relationship with singer Camila Cabello. The pair dated between 2019 and 2023, announcing their split in 2021 before briefly rekindling their romance in 2023.
