Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of the biggest Hollywood releases in India in recent years. More than a week before hitting theatres, the Marvel film has already started a massive advance booking rush which has put it on track for a record breaking debut at the Indian box office.
According to Sacnilk, trade estimates currently place the film’s opening day collection between Rs 50 crore and Rs 60 crore gross in India. If those projections become reality, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will register one of the biggest opening days ever for an international release in the country.
The film could even come close to surpassing Avengers: Endgame which continues to hold the record for the biggest opening day by a Hollywood title in India with an estimated Rs 65 crore gross.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Advance Booking Skyrockets Ahead Of Release
The excitement surrounding the Tom Holland starrer can be seen through ticket sales. According to Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been selling nearly 2,000 tickets every hour on BookMyShow since advance bookings opened last week.
The momentum has remained steady instead of witnessing the usual spikes associated with blockbuster releases. Trade observers note that maintaining such demand more than a week before release is unusual even for major Indian films.
If bookings continue to accelerate during the final days before release, the film could emerge as one of Hollywood’s strongest performers in the Indian market.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Final Trailer Revisits No Way Home Ending
Sony Pictures has released the final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day which gives a look at Peter Parker’s next chapter.
The trailer picks up after the emotional ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home where Doctor Strange’s spell erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memories. Now living in a world where nobody remembers his identity, Peter continues fighting crime alone while dealing with the emotional consequences of that sacrifice.
The footage also teases a mysterious new villain whose presence appears to remain invisible to everyone except Spider-Man. Alongside the action, the trailer hints that Peter is still struggling to move on as the people closest to him continue with their lives without remembering him.
According to the official synopsis released by Marvel and Sony: “It’s a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves, a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”
