Olivia Wilde’s The Invite has already made its way to theatres but if you missed the film on the big screen, there’s good news. The comedy-drama is expected to make its streaming debut soon, giving audiences another chance to watch Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton together.
Directed by Wilde, The Invite follows a married couple whose seemingly simple dinner party takes an unexpected turn after they invite their mysterious upstairs neighbours over. What begins as an ordinary evening soon becomes a complicated mix of attraction, secrets, relationship troubles and uncomfortable conversations.
When Did The Invite Release In Theatres?
The Invite had a limited theatrical rollout before expanding to a wider release. In India, the film eventually arrived in theatres on July 10, 2026. The film had earlier been announced for a June 26 release in India, but its theatrical schedule was subsequently shifted.
The Invite OTT Release Date: When Will The Film Stream?
The wait is almost over for viewers who skipped the theatrical release. The Invite will be available to stream on Prime Video from August 11, 2026. The OTT release gives the film another opportunity to reach audiences after its theatrical run, particularly viewers who were waiting for its digital premiere.
The film is produced and distributed by A24 and its streaming plans have been the subject of speculation following its theatrical run.

What Is The Invite About?
The film centres on Joe and Angela, played by Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde, whose marriage is already going through a difficult phase.
The couple invite their upstairs neighbours, Hawk and Pina, played by Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz, for dinner. However, what should have been a casual evening quickly becomes something much more complicated.
The story plays with relationships, attraction, intimacy and the uncomfortable truths that can emerge when people stop pretending everything is fine.
Directed by Wilde, The Invite is her third feature as a director following Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling. The screenplay was written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones and is based on the 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs.
So, while fans will have to wait a little longer for the confirmed The Invite OTT release date, the film’s streaming debut is expected to be announced soon.
