The Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups trailer may belong to Yash but he is certainly not the only familiar face making an impression. The trailer, which arrived on August 8, throws a whole bunch of characters into its dark and chaotic world, with gangsters, complicated relationships, revenge and enough violence to keep things suitably toxic.
Here is a look at the actors and characters we spotted in the Toxic trailer.
Yash As Raya And Ticket
Yash is pulling double duty in Toxic by playing both Raya and Ticket. Raya is the older, ruthless gangster at the heart of the story while Ticket is the younger character who appears to be connected to him through the film’s larger family and revenge storyline. The trailer gives us glimpses of both avatars.
Raya is everything you’d expect. He is fearless, unpredictable, charming when he wants to be and absolutely brutal when things don’t go his way. His world revolves around power, crime, women and a fierce battle for control.
Ticket, meanwhile, appears to belong to a different chapter of the story. The trailer suggests that his character has a personal connection to Raya and Kiara Advani’s Nadia.
The double role also gives Yash the chance to play two very different sides of the same story.
Kiara Advani As Nadia
Kiara Advani plays Nadia, one of the more intriguing characters introduced in the trailer. While there is still plenty of mystery surrounding her role, her connection with Yash’s character appears to be far more complicated than a straightforward romantic equation.
The trailer also seems to place Nadia at the centre of the possible father son storyline, although exactly what happened between her character and Raya remains unclear.
Nayanthara As Ganga
Nayanthara appears as Ganga. Her character gets glimpses in the trailer. Given the number of characters fighting for power in Toxic, Ganga’s exact position in Raya’s world could become one of the film’s more interesting reveals.
Huma Qureshi As Elizabeth
Huma Qureshi steps into the dark world of Toxic as Elizabeth. The actress appears to be part of the film’s dangerous criminal setup.
Tara Sutaria As Rebecca
Tara Sutaria plays Rebecca, another character who gets a glimpse in the trailer. While there is not enough information yet to completely decode her role, her presence adds another layer to the complicated web surrounding Raya.
Rukmini Vasanth As Mellisa
Rukmini Vasanth joins the cast as Mellisa. Her appearance is brief but she is among the several characters introduced as part of the film’s sprawling world.
Akshay Oberoi As Tony
Akshay Oberoi plays Tony in Toxic. The trailer introduces him as another part of the film’s crime ridden world.
Darrell D’Silva As Salvador
Darrell D’Silva takes on the role of Salvador. His character appears to be one of the many powerful figures operating within the criminal empire at the heart of the story. He is shown as the rival of Yash’s character.
Sudev Nair And Balaji Manohar Also Spotted
Sudev Nair plays Karmadi. The trailer gives us a glimpse of him but keeps his larger role relatively guarded. Meanwhile, Balaji Manohar appears as Bheera.
Sanjeeda Shaikh Makes A Striking Appearance
Then there is Sanjeeda Shaikh who makes a special appearance in Toxic. Her look in the trailer immediately stands out.
Toxic Is More Than Just A Gangster Drama, Says Yash
At first glance, Toxic certainly looks like a gangster film filled with guns, fights, power struggles and revenge. But Yash has previously insisted that there is more happening beneath all that action.
Speaking to Fandango earlier this year, the actor called Toxic “a very ambitious film” and revealed that it was shot in both Kannada and English.
“At face value, it may seem like a typical gangster drama packed with action, but it’s far more layered. It explores deep psychological themes and aspects of human behaviour that audiences can relate to. It’s a unique way of presenting a dark character,” he said.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on August 26, 2026.
