Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons has maintained a strong hold at the box office through its first five days even as the film witnessed a drop in collections on its first Tuesday. The Tamil family drama, which also released in Telugu, arrived in cinemas on August 14 and has benefited from the star power of Suriya as well as its family-oriented appeal.
The film had a particularly strong opening weekend by collecting more than Rs 58 crore net in India across its first three days according to the figures provided by Sacnilk. While Monday brought the expected weekday correction, Tuesday saw another decline.
How Much Did Vishwanath & Sons Earn On Day 5?
According to Sacnilk, Vishwanath & Sons collected Rs 6.35 crore net in India on Day 5, Tuesday. This was an 18.6 per cent decline from the Rs 7.80 crore it earned on Monday.
The Day 5 collection came from 5,021 shows with the film recording an overall occupancy of 24.1 per cent. While the Tuesday number is lower than Monday, the film continues to maintain a sizeable daily collection after its strong weekend run.
The film’s Day 5 performance was also split between its Tamil and Telugu versions. The Tamil version collected Rs 3.15 crore by recording 21 per cent occupancy across 3,054 shows. The Telugu version contributed Rs 3.20 crore with 29 per cent occupancy across 1,967 shows, according to Sacnilk.

As per Sacnilk, the Suriya starrer has accumulated Rs 72.30 crore net in India after five days. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 83.60 crore.
The film’s run began with Rs 15.35 crore on its opening Friday. It then saw a major jump on Saturday by adding Rs 22.25 crore before collecting another Rs 20.55 crore on Sunday. The first three days therefore contributed Rs 58.15 crore to its India net total.
The weekday transition brought the collections down with Monday by adding Rs 7.80 crore and Tuesday Rs 6.35 crore.

The film has also performed strongly in overseas markets. According to Sacnilk, Vishwanath & Sons added Rs 2 crore in overseas gross on Day 5 by taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 45 crore.
With the India gross standing at Rs 83.60 crore and overseas gross at Rs 45 crore, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 128.60 crore after five days.
