Akanksha Chamola may have moved on from her Lock Upp journey, but she still has a clear opinion about how her stint on the reality show unfolded. At the We Women Want Conclave & Shakti Awards 2026, the actress was asked whether she thought Shreya was the deserving winner of Lock Upp.
Akanksha chose not to pass judgment on the show’s final result. However, when asked about her own performance, she was quite clear about where she stood. “I am not the judge who should be the deserving winner. But if you ask me, I think I was the deserving winner. Because the show was about owning your truth and I was true to it,” she said.
What Did Akanksha Chamola Say About Shreya’s Lock Upp Win?
Rather than directly questioning Shreya’s victory, Akanksha first pointed out that she was not in a position to decide who deserved to win the show. But when it came to assessing her own journey, she did not hold back.
According to Akanksha, the central idea of Lock Upp was about owning one’s truth, and she believes she stayed true to that throughout her time on the show. For her, that became the biggest measure of whether she deserved to take home the trophy.
Akanksha has said she was prepared for public judgement and wanted audiences to discover her for themselves. “I am open to judgements and never feared of that,” she had said while discussing her decision to enter Lock Upp.
The actress also revealed that she wanted viewers to “discover” her through the show, rather than relying on preconceived ideas about her.
Akanksha Chamola’s Lock Upp Journey
Akanksha’s appearance on Lock Upp came amid significant interest in her personal life. Her relationship and subsequent separation from Gaurav Khattar have been widely discussed, with the actress also addressing the controversy surrounding her surname.
At the conclave, Akanksha revealed that she and Gaurav took 18 months to decide that they should separate. “We took 18 months to decide that we should separate. We took a lot of time before making the decision,” she said.
She also maintained that being honest with her audience was important to her, adding, “If I can’t be honest to my audience, I can’t be honest to anything.”
