Welcome To The Jungle is still doing pretty steady stuff at the Indian box office, even as it goes into its second week. And the weekday slowdown is there like usual, but the Akshay Kumar-led comedy keeps pulling in family crowds to theatres. On Day 13, it is estimated to have earned Rs 2.35 crore net in India, and that comes with a 21.7% dip compared to the collection from the previous day. Because of this, the total domestic box office collection now stands at Rs 122.90 crore net.

Akshay Kumar’s Comedy Stays Steady Despite The Usual Weekday Slowdown

Like most big-budget commercial films, this movie has started to see a dip in collections on weekday schedules. At the same time it still keeps going in a fairly steady way, particularly in the mass markets and in single-screen theatres, where the comedy somehow stays a magnet for crowds. Even though the daily earnings are now hovering around the Rs 2 crore figure, it has managed to hold its ground at the box office, even with newer releases moving in and creating competition.

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Inches Closer To The Rs 122 Crore Mark In India

Crossing the Rs 122 crore mark on Wednesday, it looks like the comedy has taken a small step closer to becoming, one more time, a box office success for Akshay Kumar. The movie is doing decently overseas as well, so now the worldwide gross is parked over Rs 177 crore. Even if the reviews were mixed at first, the fact that it keeps moving on the domestic side makes it seem like audiences are really taking a liking to it.

Strong weekend Gains Help The Film Maintain Its Box Office Momentum

The film’s biggest strength, kind of, was its really impressive weekend performance. On its second Saturday and then Sunday, the collections jumped by nearly 60%, and Sunday by itself pulled in close to Rs 10 crore. That weekend boost, it basically helped cover the usual weekday slowdown, so the film could keep up a steady pace at the box office.

Ensemble Entertainer Continues Attracting Audiences In Its Second Week

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the movie kind of flaunts a star-packed cast with Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, and a few other familiar faces as well. The whole setup is kind of built around a fun in the truest sense kind of plot where a surprisingly charming bunch ends up smack in the middle of unexpected misadventures inside the jungle.

Positive Audience Response Keeps The Comedy On Track for Another Milestone

The strong reaction from families and younger audiences keeps pushing the film forward, with its box office run staying pretty lively. While a brand-new comedy franchise is expected to reach the theatres soon, these next few days are likely to be decisive for how it performs.
