A New Year’s Eve concert by popular music duo Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur in Balurghat, West Bengal, ended on a frightening note after fans surrounded their car and smashed its windshield. What began as post-show excitement quickly spiralled into chaos, raising serious questions about crowd safety at large public events.
The incident took place shortly after the duo wrapped up their performance and ushered in 2026 with thousands of cheering fans. As they attempted to leave the venue, an overenthusiastic crowd pressed close to their vehicle, turning a celebratory moment into a tense situation.
Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur are one of Bollywood’s most successful composer-singer duos. They first came into the spotlight as finalists on The Voice India in 2015. Their powerful vocals and emotional compositions quickly caught the attention of the Hindi film industry.

Despite the presence of security staff, the crowd remained dense and difficult to manage. Videos show guards attempting to create space around the car as fans surged forward. Many online viewers later pointed out that the situation could have turned far more dangerous.
