Who Is Abhijeet Kingra?
Abhijeet Kingra, also spelled Abjeet, is an Indian national who was arrested in Canada’s Ontario in October 2024. He was held in connection with the shooting and attack at AP Dhillon’s Vancouver Island residence. Canadian authorities alleged that Kingra played a direct role in the attack. They later charged him with firearm-related offences and arson. Court proceedings in Canada then linked the operation to the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal network. However, Kingra has claimed that he was not a gang member.
Recent reports suggest that Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board ordered his deportation. The decision was undertaken after determining that Abhijeet was associated with the Bishnoi gang. On the other hand, Kingra has argued that returning to India could put his life at risk due to the threats allegedly made against him and his family.
What Happened At AP Dhillon’s House?
The incident dates back to September 2024. Multiple shots were fired at AP Dhillon’s home in Colwood, British Columbia. Two vehicles outside the property were also set on fire. A video purportedly filmed by the attackers later surfaced on social media and went viral. Dhillon was not harmed in the attack.
Following the shooting, gangster Rohit Godara, who has ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, publicly claimed responsibility. The attack was allegedly linked to AP Dhillon’s association with Salman Khan. The Bollywood superstar had appeared in the singer’s music video ‘Old Money’. Canadian authorities later arrested Kingra and identified another suspect, Vikram Sharma, who remains at large.
