Maria Goretti, former MTV VJ who is also the wife of actor Arshad Warsi, has opened up about the personal sacrifices she made after stepping away from her successful television career to focus on raising her family.
While she said that she has no regrets about choosing motherhood, Goretti admitted that she occasionally misses the financial independence and appreciation that came with working during the peak of her career.
Maria Goretti Opens Up About Leaving Her Career
Speaking on The Aditi Govitrikar Show, Maria Goretti talked about her decision to put her professional life on hold after becoming a mother. She said that although she enjoyed building a family with Arshad Warsi, there are moments when she misses earning her own income.
“Let me put that very honestly. It’s like the kind of money I commanded at one point in time. I took a different route, but I also feel that when I worked and when I was an MTV VJ, there was so much appreciation, and I got so much that I was actually satiated,” she said.
Talking about life after welcoming her children, Goretti shared that she consciously chose to stay at home and be present during their growing years.
“When I had the kids, I wanted to sit. Today, when I am at home and I’m knocking on teenagers’ doors, I sometimes feel, ‘Why am I at home for this?’ But no, the fact of the matter is that I had a great time,” she added.
