Celebrity blogger and media personality Perez Hilton has been hospitalised recently. He appeared to harm himself during a livestream on TikTok. Perez’s action has triggered concern among viewers and it prompted an emergency response from authorities in Florida’s Miami. The incident occurred on August 4, after many people contacted emergency services while watching the livestream. 
 
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that Hilton was safely recovered and taken to a local hospital, reported PEOPLE. He is now receiving medical care. Authorities said that the situation was handled as a mental health crisis, and licensed mental health professionals are providing support to his family.

The livestream was later removed from TikTok, and it showed Perez Hilton appearing to harm himself. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to his residence after receiving reports of an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm.
 
Officials said that deputies prioritised crisis intervention and de-escalation, they spoke with family members while confirming Hilton was alone inside the home. Rather than forcing entry immediately, authorities followed mental health crisis protocols before safely recovering him. He was transported to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and is now receiving medical treatment. Mental health professionals were also deployed to support his family.

A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Hilton initially aspired to become an actor. Later, he launched his celebrity gossip website, PerezHilton.com, in 2004 from Los Angeles. The blog quickly became one of the web’s most visited entertainment destinations, known for its irreverent tone, celebrity scoops and tabloid-style commentary.

Beyond blogging, he expanded into television and entertainment, and appeared in reality shows such as Celebrity Big Brother (UK), Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition, and hosted his own VH1 series, What Perez Sez. This was after he developed severe complications from an ulcer that reportedly led to sepsis. He later underwent another emergency procedure to remove a dangerous blood clot.
