The trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has given audiences their first look at the film’s grand world and introduces a host of characters from the Indian epic alongside its star-studded cast. While Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi’s Sita and Yash’s Ravana have dominated conversations, another face has also caught viewers’ attention.

Riya Kapoor, who plays Mandvi in the film, has become one of the trailer’s most talked-about newcomers. Though she appears only briefly, her traditional look and presence alongside Sai Pallavi have sparked curiosity with many fans searching to know more about the actress who has joined one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious projects.

Who Is Riya Kapoor?

Riya Kapoor is an actress who has previously worked across television, regional cinema and music videos before landing her biggest project yet with Ramayana.

Before joining Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic, she reportedly appeared in the television show Sampoorna, the Telugu film MissTerious and featured in several popular music videos. While she has steadily built her acting career over the years, Ramayana marks her biggest mainstream film to date.

According to reports, she secured the role after going through multiple rounds of auditions and look tests before being selected for the ambitious two-part adaptation.

Who Is Mandvi In Ramayana?

In Hindu mythology, Mandvi is the daughter of King Kushadhwaja and Queen Chandrabhaga, which makes her the cousin of Sita. She later marries Bharat, Lord Rama’s younger brother, and becomes an important member of the Ayodhya royal family.

The trailer offers only a brief glimpse of Mandvi, but the character is expected to have a much larger role as the story unfolds across the two-film saga. Riya could possibly share several scenes with Sai Pallavi particularly during sequences set in Mithila.
