The Strictly Come Dancing 2026 line-up just got even more exciting. The BBC has officially confirmed that Big Brother host Will Best is the latest celebrity to join the upcoming season. He is the sixth contestant announced for the show.
Will Best will be swapping the presenting studio for the ballroom later this year. He will join a growing list of celebrities that already includes Dani Dyer, Lacey Turner, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton and Cach Mercer.
Reacting to the announcement, the television presenter admitted he is equal parts excited and nervous about taking on the challenge.
“I can’t quite believe it…I’m doing Strictly! What an absolute dream. Albeit a pretty terrifying one. I’ve been lucky to do lots of live telly before, but absolutely nothing like this. And I cannot wait!” he said as quoted by Mirror.
He added, “I have no idea if I can actually dance, but bring on the sequins, bring on the quicksteps, bring on the dance floor! I’m going to try to enjoy every minute of it.”
So, who is Will Best? Here’s everything to know.
Who Is Will Best?
Will Best is a British television presenter who has spent more than 15 years working across some of the UK’s biggest television networks. He first gained attention through T4 before going on to present shows for BBC Three, This Morning and Viva. Over the years, he has built a reputation as a confident live presenter.
Although he has hosted countless live television shows, ballroom dancing will be an entirely new experience for him.
Following the announcement, Best couldn’t hide his excitement and commented under Strictly Come Dancing’s Instagram post, writing: “SO EXCITED!! (very long eeeek).”
Will Best Connection To Dani Dyer
One fun fact that has caught fans’ attention is Best’s unexpected link to fellow contestant Dani Dyer.
The presenter previously won Celebrity Mastermind with the specialist subject of Danny Dyer – dad of his new co-star, Love Island’s Dani.
Now, the pair will be competing alongside each other on Strictly Come Dancing.
Who Else Is Joining Strictly Come Dancing 2026?
The BBC has been revealing this year’s celebrity contestants much earlier than usual, with announcements beginning in June instead of August.
Alongside Will Best, the confirmed contestants include EastEnders star Lacey Turner, Love Island winner Dani Dyer, Australian singer Delta Goodrem, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton and fellow Love Island winner Cach Mercer.
The upcoming season will also introduce three hosts: Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and former professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September 2026.
