Trevor Dietz, the manager of Irish rock band Fontaines D.C., has died at the age of 47. He passed away on June 7, Sunday. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed but the band – consisting of members Grian Chatten, Conor Curley, Conor “Deego” Deegan III, Tom Coll and Carlos O’Connell – shared the sad news through an emotional Instagram post featuring a picture of Trevor with the members.
“Trevor Dietz. We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday June 7th we lost our dear friend and manager Trevor,” Fountaines D.C. wrote.
The band further mentioned how Trevor was with the band throughout its journey, saying, “We have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band.”
“He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always,” it added.
In the conclusion, the band requested from fans around the world for privacy for itself and Dietz’s family.
“We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev.”

Condolences poured in from well-known UK artists.
“Suaimhneas síoraí Trev” under the band’s post, while DJ Annie McManus said “sending all my love to you lads and to Trevor’s loved ones,” Moglaí Bap of Belfast rap group Kneecap wrote under the band’s post.
English punk rock group Lambrini Girls said, “Rest in peace, Trev. He went above and beyond for everyone and championed so many DIY bands, the impact he had is beyond measure. Lost for words. Sending our love and condolences to all of you.”
Who Is Trevor Dietz?
According to Irish Times, Trevor joined Fontaines D.C. in 2016 and from there on, he saw the rise of a group of music students to a recognised band which went on to get nominated for prestigious music awards like Grammy and Mercury Prize.
Trevor did his graduation in Belveder College, Dublin, but his association with music started in 2001. He first got associated with Workman’s in 2010 and even ran club nights on bank holidays.
As per the report, when Fontaines D.C. band members were still students, it was Trevor who booked them to play at Workman’s on multiple occasions before becoming their manager.
In one of his recent Instagram posts, Trevor wrote, “Even after 10 years of working with Fontaines DC across 5 album releases and hundreds of gigs, their songwriting genius, incredible live performances and sheer strength to take on and absolutely smash every single night of such extensive tours, never ceases to blow my mind.”
Trevor called it the “best band in the world.”
