Marvel Studios is slowly building the next generation of mutants for its much-awaited X-Men reboot. The latest name making headlines is Heartstopper star Kit Connor who is expected to play Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, in the upcoming film.
Connor’s addition comes after Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink became the first actor to officially join Marvel’s new mutant lineup as Jean Grey. Meanwhile, Samara Weaving has also been confirmed to play another major character from the X-Men universe. Here’s a look at the actors who have either joined or are being linked to Marvel Studios’ reboot.
Kit Connor Set To Play Cyclops
Kit Connor is chosen to take on the role of Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops, one of the founding members and longtime leader of the X-Men. Known for his optic blast powers, Cyclops has previously been portrayed by James Marsden in the original X-Men films and Tye Sheridan in Fox’s prequel series.
If finalised, the role will mark Connor’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. The actor rose to global fame with Netflix’s Heartstopper and has since become one of the industry’s fastest-rising young stars.

Sadie Sink Is Marvel’s First Confirmed Mutant
Sadie Sink, who rose to fame through Stranger Things, made her Marvel debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day who introduced the powerful telepath into the MCU. Jean Grey has previously been played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner in Fox’s X-Men films with Sink now becoming the latest actor to portray the iconic mutant.
Her appearance is widely seen as the first step towards Marvel Studios’ plans for a younger X-Men team in the years ahead.

Samara Weaving To Portray Emma Frost
Another actor associated with the reboot is Samara Weaving who has been confirmed for the role of Emma Frost.
Emma Frost is one of Marvel’s most powerful telepaths and has appeared as both a hero and a villain throughout the comics. The character was previously played by January Jones in X-Men: First Class. If Weaving joins the franchise, Emma Frost is expected to play an important role in Marvel’s next chapter for the mutants.

What We Know About Marvel’s X-Men Reboot
Marvel Studios is expected to launch its new X-Men era after Avengers: Secret Wars with Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier attached to direct the reboot. The film is reportedly targeting a 2028 release.
Before the new team takes over, several familiar faces from Fox’s X-Men franchise will return in Avengers: Doomsday. Hugh Jackman is set to reprise Wolverine while Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn and James Marsden will return as Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Cyclops respectively.
