Not every day do you receive missed calls from Amitabh Bachchan. But that is exactly what happened with real estate entrepreneur Abhinandan Lodha who has now shared how one unexpected phone call from the superstar led to his first land deal in Ayodhya.
Recalling the incident at the Hindustan Times India Next Real Estate Summit 2026, The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) Founder and CMD said he was in Australia in 2023 when he noticed a few missed calls around 3 AM followed by a message from Amitabh Bachchan.
A Message From Amitabh Bachchan Left Him Surprised
Sharing the memorable moment, Lodha revealed that what stayed with him the most was Amitabh Bachchan personally reaching out instead of asking someone from his team to do it.
“There were a couple of missed calls, followed by a message that read, ‘This is Amitabh Bachchan, please call back when convenient.’ I literally stood up and called him back,” Lodha recalled.
He further shared that the conversation turned to Ayodhya. “Abhinandan ji, main UP se hoon aur mujhe Ayodhya ji mein land leni hai (I am a native of Uttar Pradesh and I want to buy land in the holy town of Ayodhya).”
Lodha responded, “I told him, we will do it for you.”
Rs 15 Crore Deal Was Finalised In No Time
According to Lodha, the veteran actor’s first question was about the price of the land.
“I replied, ‘How can I talk pricing with you?’ He said he wanted to buy 15,000 sq ft and I told him it may be around Rs 15 crore, and the very next day he sent me Rs 15 crore,” Lodha said.
That marked the beginning of Amitabh Bachchan’s growing real estate portfolio in Ayodhya.
Amitabh Bachchan Has Continued To Expand His Ayodhya Portfolio
Since his first investment, Bachchan has steadily increased his presence in the temple city. In January 2024, ahead of the Ram Mandir inauguration, he purchased a 10,000 sq ft plot at HoABL’s flagship The Sarayu project for around Rs 14.5 crore.
He followed it up in May 2025 by acquiring a 25,000 sq ft plot adjacent to The Sarayu for nearly Rs 40 crore.
Earlier this year, in March 2026, the actor further expanded his portfolio by purchasing a 2.67 acre land parcel worth Rs 35 crore from HoABL. The property is located near the company’s 75 acre The Sarayu project and marked his third investment in Ayodhya and fourth plotted development purchase with the real estate firm.
Apart from Ayodhya, Bachchan has also invested in HoABL’s Sol de Alibaug project where he purchased a 10,000 sq ft land parcel worth Rs 10 crore.
